Twenty-Four Valley Football Players Named All-CIF – Heritage’s Broach Named Coach of the Year

The 2013-14 All-CIF Southern Section Football Selections were released January 13th and twenty-four Valley athletes were named to the prestigious teams. Eleven were in the Central Division; eleven were in the Inland Division.

CENTRAL DIVISION: Heritage High School Patriots were the 2013 Central Division Champion. Running back Limahai Hifo was named Offensive Player of the Year. He has committed to San Jose State. BYU-bound Sione Takitaki was named Defensive Player of the Year. Head Coach Kraig Broach was named Coach of the Year. The school is only six years old and under Broach’s leadership, the Heritage team has not lost a Sunbelt League game and has been to the division championships three times, winning their first CIF championship this year.

Also named to the Central Division All-CIF team: offensive linemen Caleb Marquez (Heritage) and Tristan Corwin (Elsinore); receivers Evan Rodriguez (Heritage) and Michael Valencia (Paloma Valley); defensive back Matthew Palmer (Heritage); defensive lineman Kretien Webb; linebackers Christian Decker-Weible (Heritage) and Ryan Laverdiere (Elsinore). Paloma Valley’s Felix Bogroff was named Utility Player.

EAST VALLEY DIVISION: Linfield Christian defensive end/tight end Dallas House was the sole Valley player chosen All-CIF in this division.

INLAND DIVISION: Three offensive and eight defensive Valley athletes were named All-CIF. On the offensive side of the ball are: lineman Kyle Hoppe (Chaparral), receiver Brandon Presley (Great Oak), and utility player Coltin Gerhart (Vista Murrieta).

Defensive players include: defensive backs Randy Beggs (Vista Murrieta) and Darrien Molton (Vista Murrieta); linemen Curtis Bolton and Tyler Cook (Vista Murrieta and Dalton Knight (Chaparral); linebacker Mason Evans (Vista Murrieta); utility player Nick Fisher (Great Oak); and kicker/punter John Baron (Chaparral).

NORTHEAST DIVISION: Running back Devon Yuhas from Hamilton High School in Anza was named All-CIF in this division.
