Vehicle in Temecula catches on fire; fire crews contain and extinguish blaze

A vehicle caught on fire early this afternoon but was quickly contained by fire response crews, a witness reported.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. today (Jan. 18), a vehicle parked on Royal Crest Drive off of Crown Hills Drive in the Crown Hills housing development in Temecula caught on fire.

Cal Fire and Riverside County Fire crews responded to the scene. According to the witness, Engine 84 was the first to arrive.

No other details have been released.

The cause remains under investigation.
