Two motorists arrested during Menifee DUI checkpoint

MENIFEE – Two motorists were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and another on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs during an overnight driver’s license/sobriety checkpoint in Menifee, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.

In addition, 15 vehicles were towed, three felony arrests were served and 20 citations were issued during the checkpoint on Newport Road at Laguna Vista Drive that began at 8 p.m Friday and ended today at 2 a.m., according to a department statement.

Twenty-seven drivers were cited or arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or while on a suspended or revoked license.
