RIVERSIDE – A 37-year-old Perris man accused of forcing two young girls to engage in sex acts so he could take pornographic pictures pleaded not guilty today to multiple felony charges.

Benjamin Nunez is charged with three counts of lewd acts on a child, five counts of child pornography and one count of false imprisonment. He’s being held in lieu of $100,000 bail at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.

Nunez appeared with his lawyer today before Riverside County Superior Court Judge Richard T. Fields, who set a felony settlement conference in the case for Dec. 20.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the victims were 3 and 9 years old when the alleged abuse occurred.

More than 60 explicit photos were uncovered on floppy disks that Nunez gave to his former roommate, said sheriff’s Sgt. Kevin Smith.

He said the witness told investigators that before Nunez moved out, he handed him the disks, indicating they were new and unused.

However, when the roommate loaded a disk into his computer, he immediately discovered the child pornography, according to Smith.

Nunez was located and arrested without incident on Oct. 28. The victims also were found, Smith said.

I heard the roommate also committed assault and battery upon Nunez before calling the Police and attempted to blackmail him. Since Nunez refused to pay, only then did he call 911.
